What is SMART NFTs?
A self-custodial wallet for publishing content as collectible editions on Bitcoin SV. You publish
something once; anyone with your link can buy their own copy in a single click. The rules — your publisher
fee and the resale split — are enforced by the network itself. There's no account and no server: your
wallet lives in this browser, everything else lives on-chain.
Quick start
- Back up your wallet. In Wallet, copy your WIF (private key) somewhere safe — it restores everything on any device.
- Add a little BSV. Send a small amount to your address (shown in Wallet) — you need it to publish and to buy.
- Publish an edition. In Publish, set a name, cover, description, an optional file, and a price model, then mint.
- Share it. Your edition appears in My tokens — click Sales page to open its public link, then Share it anywhere.
- Get paid. Anyone who opens the link presses Get a copy and owns one instantly; you (the publisher) and the current holder are paid automatically, on-chain.
Using each tab
💰 Wallet
Your keys, balance, and backup.
- Check your balance — click Refresh balance.
- Receive BSV — send funds to your Address (you need a little to publish or buy).
- Share your identity — Copy public key to give to anyone sending you tokens or messages.
- Back up — copy your WIF and store it safely. It is the only thing that can restore this wallet.
- Restore / recover — paste a WIF into Restore from WIF → Restore; your holdings and purchases rebuild from chain.
- New wallet — makes a fresh key (back up the current WIF first — it gets replaced).
📤 Publish
Create editions of your content for anyone to buy.
- First time only: click Test v2 broadcast to confirm the network accepts the covenant transaction type.
- Enter a collection name and description, and add a cover image (what buyers see).
- Pick a pricing model: Fixed fees (flat publisher + holder fee in sats), or Percentage (publisher takes a % of a reseller-set price).
- Set how many editions to mint now, and optionally embed a file — tick Encrypt to make it holders-only.
- Click Mint edition collection (needs a little BSV). Your new editions appear in My tokens.
🎴 My tokens
Everything you hold, and what you can do with each item.
- Sell / share — click Sales page on an edition to open its public buy link, then Share it anywhere.
- Replicate — mint yourself another copy of an edition.
- Transfer / Send — paste the recipient's public key at the top, then Transfer (editions) or Send (plain tokens) to hand it over.
- View — open the embedded content (decrypts automatically if you're a holder).
- Verify — prove on-chain that an item is a genuine edition of its collection.
- Check incoming / recover — scan the chain for items sent to you, or rebuild your holdings after restoring a WIF.
✉️ Messages
Send on-chain notes or files to another person's public key.
- Paste the recipient's public key.
- Write your message and optionally attach a file.
- Leave Encrypt to the recipient ticked for a private, authenticated message.
- Click Send message — it's delivered on-chain to their key.
- Click Check messages to read messages others have sent you.
How selling works
Editions are "unlimited mints": a buyer doesn't take your copy — they mint their own copy from
yours, permissionlessly, while you keep yours. Each copy can then be a source for the next buyer. Two price models:
- Fixed fees — a flat publisher fee + holder fee (in satoshis), paid on every copy.
- Percentage — the publisher takes a fixed % of the sale price; the reseller keeps the rest. The split is computed and enforced by the covenant on every sale.
Backups & recovery
Your only secret is your WIF. If you lose this browser's data, paste the WIF into Wallet → Restore from WIF
on any device to rebuild your holdings and purchases straight from the blockchain. If you lose the WIF with no backup, the wallet can't be recovered — so back it up.
FAQ
Do buyers need an account? No — anyone with a funded wallet buys from a link in one click. No sign-up, no server.
What does a copy cost? The price the publisher set, plus a tiny network (miner) fee. The Sales page shows the exact split before you confirm.
Is my file private?Tick Encrypt when publishing and only holders can open it. It's an inconvenience to non-holders, not hard DRM.
Why does it say experimental? The covenant tech is new and runs on real mainnet BSV — use small amounts while it's being proven.
